The Challenge
Manish had never spoken a word of Japanese. Six months later, he was N5 certified and enrolled in a Tokyo language school.
The Journey
Manish was a fresh Plus 2 graduate from Pokhara with a passion for Japanese culture but zero language knowledge. He walked into Niigata International and enrolled in the beginner Japanese track — 3 hours a day, 6 days a week.
His instructor used a structured curriculum covering Hiragana, Katakana, and basic Kanji alongside conversational drills. By month 3, Manish could introduce himself, order food, and hold basic conversations. By month 5, he passed a mock NAT-TEST N5 with 85%.
Niigata International connected Manish with SDS International Educational Institute in Tokyo, a partner school. The application included his JLPT N5 certificate, academic transcripts, and a well-crafted study plan essay. The documentation team prepared his financial statements and sponsorship letters.
His Certificate of Eligibility arrived in 5 weeks, and the visa stamping took just 8 working days.
The Outcome
Manish is now in his second term at SDS International in Tokyo, studying at N3 level. He works part-time at a convenience store near Shinjuku, earning enough for rent and meals. He plans to transfer to a Japanese university for a degree in international business.
“I started from absolute zero. If I can do it, anyone can. Niigata International's system is designed to take you from knowing nothing to being ready for Japan. Trust the process.”
