Winning a Scholarship to Japan: Sunita's Journey to Niigata Language School

The Challenge

Sunita dreamed of studying in Japan but thought scholarships were out of reach. Niigata International showed her otherwise.

The Journey

Sunita was a bright student with strong academic records from Pokhara, but her family could only partially fund her Japan education. She approached Niigata International seeking a pathway that wouldn't strain her family financially. Niigata International's counselors identified partial scholarship programs at partner language schools in Japan. They helped Sunita prepare a compelling application highlighting her academic achievements, community involvement, and clear career goals in international business. Alongside the scholarship application, Sunita enrolled in Niigata International's JLPT preparation course. She progressed from zero to N5 in 4 months, then to N4 in an additional 3 months. Her consistent mock test scores impressed the selection committee. Niigata International's documentation team prepared her complete visa file, including the scholarship confirmation letter, financial statements, academic transcripts, and recommendation letters from her previous school. Her application was submitted to the Japanese embassy and processed within 5 weeks.

The Outcome

Sunita was awarded a 40% tuition scholarship at Niigata Language School. She is currently in her second semester, maintains a GPA of 3.8, and works part-time at a local café to cover her living expenses. She plans to enroll in a Japanese university after completing her language program.

I never thought I could get a scholarship. Niigata International didn't just help me apply — they believed in me when I didn't believe in myself. Today I'm living my dream in Japan.
